History and Establishment

1962

The Beginning of Agricultural Technology

The development of Agricultural Technology at Universitas Udayana began in 1962, initiated by the Animal Products Technology Division of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry (FKHP), now known as the Faculty of Animal Science (FAPET).

1967

Development of Agricultural Product Technology

In 1967, the field of Agricultural Product Technology was further developed and managed by the Faculty of Agriculture (FP), Universitas Udayana.

1983

Establishment of the Agricultural Technology Study Program

Universitas Udayana, through Rector's Decree No. 485/SK/PT.17/R-VII.1983, established a new study program, namely the Agricultural Technology Study Program (PSTP), to provide undergraduate (S-1) education.

1984

Authorization of the Agricultural Technology Study Program

Following an academic and administrative feasibility assessment, PSTP received authorization to open and operate from the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) through Decree No. 55/DIKTI/Kep/1984. The study program was subsequently permitted to admit new students.

1995

Development of Academic Specializations

In 1995, academic specializations and areas of concentration began to be developed and managed through organizational divisions known as departments. Three divisions were established: Agricultural Product Technology (THP), Agricultural Industrial Technology (TIP), and Agricultural Engineering (TEP).

1996–2004

Transformation into Study Programs

Following evaluations by the Directorate General of Higher Education, the THP Division was transformed into the Agricultural Product Technology Study Program through Decree No. 231/DIKTI/Kep/1996. The TIP Division became the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program through Decree No. 3956/D/T/2001, while the TEP Division became the Agricultural Engineering Study Program through Decree No. 2049/D/T/2004.

2004

Establishment of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) was officially established based on the Rector's Decree of Universitas Udayana dated October 7, 2004, No. 271.A/J14/PR.01.10/2004.

2005

Conversion of Divisions into Study Programs

Following the establishment of FTP, the divisions were transformed into study programs based on Rector's Decree No. 160/J14/KP.02.18/2005 dated June 15, 2005. Three undergraduate study programs were established under FTP: Agricultural Product Technology, Agricultural Engineering, and Agricultural Industrial Technology.

2009

Renaming of the Study Program

In 2009, the Agricultural Product Technology Study Program (PSTHP) was renamed the Food Science and Technology Study Program (PSITP) through Rector's Decree No. 16/H14/PR/2009 dated January 8, 2009. Consequently, the THP Department was also renamed the Department of Food Science and Technology.

2011–2012

Establishment of the Master's Program

The preparation of the proposal for the establishment of the Master's Program in Food Science and Technology began in January 2011 through a task force consisting of academic staff from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Udayana. On May 14, 2012, the study program received authorization to operate based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 166/E/O/2012.

2012

First Admission of Master's Students

The Master's Program in Food Science and Technology began admitting students in the 2012/2013 academic year.

2016

Management under the Faculty of Agricultural Technology

Since 2016, based on Rector's Decree No. 592/UN14/PP.03.01/2016, the Master's Program in Food Science and Technology has been managed under the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Udayana. Previously, the program was managed by the Graduate School of Universitas Udayana.

2019
