Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University Implemented Community Empowerment through Utilization of Citrus Fruit and Its By-products in Landih Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency.

The Student Executive Board (BEM) collaborated and joined the dedication team of Udayana University Faculty of Agricultural Technology Lecturers Sayi Hatiningsih, S.TP., M.Si., I Putu Gede Budisanjaya, S.TP., M.T., I Wayan Gede Sedana Yoga, S.TP., M.Agb., Luh Putu Trisna Darmayanti, S.Hut., M.P., Ainun Rofiq, and I Made Mickey Yogi Ajna Karuna, have carried out community service for Bakti Ilmiah Sosial Mahasiswa (BISMA) with the title “Community Empowerment through the Utilization of Citrus Fruit and Its Side Products in Landih Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency” on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Bale Banjar Desa Adat Palaktiying, Landih Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency.

 

This activity was attended by the Head of Landih Village and his staff, representatives of citrus farmer groups in Landih Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University Prof. Ir. I Made Anom Sutrisna Wijaya, M.App.Sc., Ph.D., and his staff, lecturers, employees, and students of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University.

 

This activity includes material presentation and demonstration of product making by students who are accompanied by lecturers in each study program:

 

Food Technology Study Program with the material “SEJOLI: Landih Original Orange Jam”

Agroindustrial Technology Program “LANDIH CLEANSCAPE: Natural Cleaner Made from Orange Peel”

Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering Study Program with the material “Utilization of Orange Fruit and Its By-products into Compost”

 

The activity continued with cleaning and planting flowers around the service location carried out by all students of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University, and the activity ended with the handover of mementos. The existence of this program is expected to increase community knowledge, especially citrus farmers in Landih Village, Bangli, in utilizing citrus fruits and their by-products into various quality and high-value products.
