Food Technology Students Win 1st Place and Favorite Category at National Food Technology Competition 2025

Students of the Food Technology Study Program made another proud achievement by winning 1st place and Favorite Category at the National Food Technology Competition 2025. This prestigious competition was organized by the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya and took place at the HomePro Atrium, Pakuwon Mall Surabaya, on May 17, 2025.

 

The representative team consisting of Ida Ayu Tisna Wahyuniari, Kunti Dewi Dhasi Aryawan, and I Gusti Agung Bulan Mutiara Dewi who are students of the Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University class of 2022 under the guidance of Ir. Putu Julyantika Nica Dewi, S.TP., M.TP. and Ir. I Gede Arie Mahendra Putra, S.TP., M.TP. brought an innovative fruit leather product made from local Balinese salak fruit and dragon fruit peel waste. This environmentally friendly product was named PITACCA and managed to steal the attention of the jury and exhibition visitors and won 1st place and Favorite Category in the Prototype Exhibition Competition category at the National Food Technology Competition 2025.

 

The competition began with an essay and prototype selection stage, followed by a presentation session and prototype exhibition at the event location. A total of 35 teams from various renowned universities in Indonesia participated, including Gadjah Mada University, Bandung Institute of Technology, IPB University, Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta, Widya Mandala Catholic University, Diponegoro University and others.

 

During the exhibition, PITACCA received a positive response from visitors, who appreciated the innovation and taste of the fruit leather products. This success is a clear proof of the creativity and enthusiasm of Food Technology students in creating innovative and sustainable food solutions.
