FTP Udayana and BRIDA Badung Collaborate to Explore Fisheries Industrialization Potential to Support Product Downstreaming
Mangupura – The Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP), Udayana University, through its project implementation team in collaboration with the Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA) of Badung Regency, conducted a Preliminary Report Meeting as part of the study entitled Potential Development of Fisheries Industrialization to Support the Fisheries Product Downstreaming Program in Badung Regency. This activity reflects a concrete collaboration between higher education institutions and local government in supporting the development of a research- and innovation-based fisheries sector.
Held on Thursday, 21 May 2026, at the Walmiki Meeting Room, BRIDA Badung Regency, the activity involved technical teams from various regional agencies, the regional research and innovation policy quality control and evaluation team, as well as the implementation team for marine and fisheries research and development, which included academics from Udayana University.
Through this collaboration, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology of Udayana University contributes to the preparation of a scientific study aimed at identifying opportunities for fisheries industrialization development in Badung Regency. The study is expected to serve as a foundation for developing policy recommendations to strengthen fisheries product downstreaming, increase commodity added value, enhance industrial competitiveness, and support sustainable regional economic growth.
This synergy between academia and local government also reflects the strategic role of FTP Udayana in promoting development driven by science, technology, and innovation that responds to community needs and regional potential. Moving forward, the outcomes of this study are expected to become a valuable reference in formulating more targeted and impactful fisheries sector development programs for Badung Regency.
