FTP Unud and Sookmyung Women’s University Successfully Conduct the 2025 UNESCO UNITWIN Semester-Based Course: Strengthening Digital Skills and Entrepreneurship for Women’s Empowerment

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University successfully implemented a Semester-Based Course as part of its international collaboration with Sookmyung Women's University under the program 2025 UNESCO UNITWIN: Women’s Empowerment Through Digital Skills and Entrepreneurship Education. The program was conducted over one full semester and was designed to enhance students’ capacities in digital skills and entrepreneurship as part of broader efforts to promote women’s empowerment in the era of digital transformation.

The program concluded with an onsite session held from December 19–21, 2025, featuring distinguished lecturers from Sookmyung Women’s University, namely Professor Jin-Hyuk Jung, Professor JoonHye Han, Ms. Sukyung Kim, and Ms. YeeUn. The presence of these international academics strengthened the course delivery and enriched students’ global perspectives on digital strategies and innovation-driven business development.

The program focused on two main themes: the Digital Class and the Entrepreneurship Class. The learning process began with interactive classroom sessions covering digital literacy, technology-based communication and marketing strategies, and the development of an entrepreneurial mindset. Subsequently, students implemented their knowledge through internships and field practice integrated with industry partners and local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Program implementation involved several strategic collaborations, including Digital Marketing practice at Kaori Group, the development of fermented coffee made from orange and tamarillo pulp at Bali Arabica Ubud, and the development of pindang powder products at Poklahsar Ulam Sari Segara. Through an experiential learning approach, students gained not only conceptual understanding but also practical skills in developing innovative products and competitive marketing strategies.

This initiative reflects FTP Unud’s strong commitment to advancing the internationalization of higher education and strengthening global academic networks. Through this collaboration, it is expected that graduates will become adaptive, innovative, and competitive professionals particularly in the fields of agricultural technology and digital entrepreneurship who are capable of contributing to community empowerment and sustainable development.
