FTP Universitas Udayana Discusses Final Report on Fisheries Industrialization Potential to Support Fisheries Product Downstreaming in Badung Regency
Badung, 22 September 2026 — The Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP), Universitas Udayana, held a discussion on the Final Report of the Study on the Potential Development of Fisheries Industrialization to Support the Fisheries Product Downstreaming Program in Badung Regency on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.
The activity marked an important step in identifying the potential and opportunities for fisheries sector development in Badung Regency, particularly through the downstreaming of fisheries products. Fisheries downstreaming is expected to increase product added value, strengthen competitiveness, and support the development of a sustainable fisheries industry in Badung Regency.
Through the discussion of the final report, various opportunities for fisheries industrialization were reviewed as a basis for supporting the development of fisheries product downstreaming initiatives. The study is expected to contribute to the formulation of a more innovative approach to fisheries sector development while creating greater economic value from fisheries products.
The development of downstream fisheries products also represents a strategic approach to strengthening the connection between fisheries resources and the growth of processing industries and food innovation. Through downstreaming, fisheries commodities can be developed beyond their role as primary products into higher-value and more competitive products.
Through this activity, Universitas Udayana continues to contribute to the development of the fisheries sector in Badung Regency through studies based on local potential, innovation, and value addition. Stronger collaboration among academia, government, and relevant stakeholders is expected to further advance fisheries product downstreaming and food innovation, supporting a more progressive and competitive fisheries sector.
