Another Achievement, Bulan Cs Reaches Gold Medal in International Event

Students of the Food Technology Study Program won Gold Medal at the Bali International Science Fair (BISF) 2025 organized by the Indonesia Young Scientist Association (IYSA). This prestigious competition was held online on June 11, 2025, and was attended by hundreds of participants from various countries.


The representative team consisting of Putu Wedananta Darma Wiguna, Putu Cempaka Sekar Hita, Made Dita Dewi Devani, Kunti Dewi Dhasi Aryawan, Ida Ayu Tisna Wahyuniari, and I Gusti Agung Bulan Mutiara Dewi are students of the Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University class of 2022. Under the guidance of lecturer Ir. I Gede Arie Mahendra Putra, S.TP., M.TP., IPM, they carry a functional food product innovation entitled OKISS (Innovation of Gluten Free-Casein Free Cookies Made from Arrowroot Starch and Okara Flour as Functional Food).


This product combines arrowroot starch and tofu pulp (okara) as the main ingredients in making gluten and casein-free cookies, which are intended for people with autism and certain food intolerances. This innovation received high appreciation from the international judges for its usefulness and sustainable approach to food waste management.


This success is a testament to the passion, creativity, and concern of Food Technology students towards health and sustainability issues, as well as the commitment to continue to produce food innovations that have a real impact on society.
