HIMATALK: Comparative Study between HIMATEPA Udayana University and Himatehape Instiper Yogyakarta to Enhance Organizational Quality and Food Technology Laboratory Insight

The Food Technology Student Association (HIMATEPA) of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University (FTP Unud), organized HIMATALK as an effort to improve the quality of student organizations and to broaden students’ insight into organizational systems and learning processes in the field of Food Technology. This activity was conducted as a comparative study between HIMATEPA Udayana University and Himatehape of the Institut Pertanian Stiper (Instiper) Yogyakarta.

HIMATALK was held offline on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at JA Building, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University, Bukit Jimbaran Campus. The event was attended by the Coordinator of the Food Technology Study Program at Udayana University, the Head of the Department of Agricultural Product Technology of Instiper Yogyakarta, supervising lecturers, as well as all board members of HIMATEPA Unud and Himatehape Instiper.

The series of HIMATALK activities included opening remarks from the Head of the Student Association and the Study Program Coordinator, followed by introductions of the student associations and study programs from each institution. The event continued with an interactive discussion session focusing on organizational systems, work programs, and experiences in managing academic and student activities. The activity concluded with a campus tour, allowing participants to gain a closer look at the facilities and Food Technology laboratories of FTP Unud.

The Head of HIMATEPA Unud, I Wayan Gede Andhika Premanayasa, stated that the HIMATALK activity ran smoothly and provided significant benefits for both institutions. He expressed hope that this activity would serve as an initial step toward establishing sustainable collaboration between student associations in the future.

Meanwhile, one of the participants, Putu Trisna Maharani, added that HIMATALK was a highly beneficial activity, particularly in expanding networks and strengthening relationships among students in the field of Food Technology. The activity also enhanced participants’ understanding of organizational management and laboratory facilities at each institution.

Through the HIMATALK activity, it is expected that positive synergy among Food Technology students will be established, along with improvements in the quality of student organizations oriented toward academic development and professionalism.
