Attending the Bongkasa Pertiwi 2022 Independent Village Program Kick Off, FTP Unud Representative Gives Suggestion Regarding Food Security and Creative Product Development

The kick-off of the 2022 Bongkasa Pertiwi Village Program was held on Wednesday, June 15th , 2022 at the Bongkasa Pertiwi Village Office. This Mandiri Village Program Kick Off activity is one of the CSR programs of the Company PT. Tirta Investama (Aqua Mambal). In addition, this activity was attended by the Subdistrict Head of Abiansemal, BPD Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, Head of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, Management of PT Tirta Investama (Aqua Mambal) and Stakeholders.

 

This activity is one way to arrange activities that can be carried out in order to achieve the 2022 Independent Village of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village. The Faculty of Agricultural Technology, represented by the Coordinator of the Information Management and Cooperation Unit, Dr. Dewa Ayu Anom Yuarini, S.TP., M.Agb and Team I Gede Arie Mahendra Putra, S.TP., M.TP.

 

One of the indicators of achievement in order to achieve an Independent Village is Food Security, Waste Management and the production of local potential-based products that can be used as characteristics of tourism supporting products in Bongkasa Pertiwi Village. In this kick off activity, representatives of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology provided input regarding this matter.

 

Mrs. Dr. Dewa Ayu Anom Yuarini, S.TP., M.Agb explained that the local potential found in Bongkasa Pertiwi Village can be explored and utilized as a tourism supporting product characteristic of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village. One of the potentials such as coconut can be explored into products such as VCO, Coconut Oil, Coco Peat, Coco Fiber, Nata De Coco and others, besides that these products can also be combined with Waste Management, namely the use of used cooking oil which is household waste. used together with VCO and coconut oil as ingredients in the process of making Aromatherapy Candles and Solid Soaps, she said.

 

In addition, she also added that in the waste management process, household organic waste can also be separated and used as a medium in the process of developing and cultivating Maggot products, she also explained that maggot has high protein and can be used as fodder for poultry and animals and Recently, research related to maggot into food has also been developed, such as maggot flour, cookies and chips.
