Education Regarding Food Additives, HIMATEPA Unud Organizes Community Service in Gianyar

The Student Association of the Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University (HIMATEPA FTP Unud) held community service at SDN 3 Tulikup on Saturday, 6^th May 2023. This activity was attended by grade 5 students at SDN 3 Tulikup.

The opening of the activity was held at the Meranggi Banjar Hall in Tulikup Village which was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Prof. Ir. I Made Anom Sutrisna Wijaya, M.App.Sc., Ph.D. and was attended by the Office of Food Security, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Kelian Adat of Sidan Village, Kelian adat of Tulikup Village, Head of KWT Sidan Village and Members, BABINSA Gianyar District, Coordinator of the Food Technology Study Program along with Associate Lecturers and Heads of Student Institutions in the FTP Udayana University.

The activities carried out were education related to the use of food additives such as the use of food colorant and sweeteners in snacks for students of SDN 3 Tulikup, in addition to providing education regarding healthy canteens and the dangers of using used cooking oil by placing information pamphlets in several areas in Sidan Village and Tulikup Village and increase the availability of trash cans at critical points in the Village area.

Justin Satria as chairman of the Food Technology Study Program Student Association said that through this activity it was hoped that it would have a positive impact on the people of Sidan Village and Tulikup Village regarding healthy canteens, the dangers of using used cooking oil and especially for Tulikup 3 Elementary School students. food so students can be expected to pay more attention to the intake of snacks consumed from an early age, he said.
