FTP Unud Collaborates with IIUM-UTM Malaysia to Organize "The 4th International Conference On Biosciences And Medical Engineering" 2022
The Faculty of
Agricultural Technology, Udayana University (FTP Unud) in collaboration with
the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and the Faculty of
Science, Universitas Teknologi Malaysia held an international seminar "The
4th International Conference On Biosciences And Medical Engineering"
(ICBME) on Tuesday-Wednesday, 21st – 22nd June 2022 Virtually headquartered at IIUM,
Malaysia. Previously, the 2019 ICBME was held in Denpasar-Bali
and this activity in 2023 is also planned to be held in Bali.
The theme of this
international seminar is “Scientific Advancement for Sustainable Resolution of
Pandemic” which covers multidisciplinary topics on advances in Bioscience and
Medical engineering such as Applied & General Microbiology, Biochemistry
& Molecular Biology, Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals, and
Biomechanics & Biomaterials. The conference was attended by participants
from various countries with participants who took part in the oral
presentation and Poster. Participants come
from various research fields to present their latest scientific papers and
findings, which may prove useful to spur collaborative efforts in the future.
This international
seminar activity also invited the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural
Technology, Prof. Ir. I Made Anom Sutrisna Wijaya, M.App.Sc., Ph.D. in the
opening ceremony. In addition, the Co-Chairman of this activity is one of the
Lecturers of the Agroindustrial Technology Study Program, FTP Unud, namely Mr.
Ir. Ida Bagus Wayan Gunam, M.P., Ph.D. As Co-Chairman, he reported that the
seminar also invited keynote speakers from Udayana University, namely Dr. I
Nengah Sujaya from the Faculty of Medicine, Unud with material related to Post
Covid-19 Pandemic Era: The time to Recover Gut Dysbiosis. Besides that,
students actively participated in this international seminar, especially in
oral and poster presentations. One of the Unud FTP students who took part in
the oral presentation was I Wayan Ryantama Swastika Braja from the Food
Technology Masters Study Program with the scientific title Formulation and
Stability of Clove Leaf (Syzygium aromaticum L.) Essential Oil Microemulsion
and Ni Kadek Ratningsih Dewi Parwati from Agroindustrial Technology Study
Program students who participated in the Poster activity with the poster title
The Effect of Types and Concentration Of Natural Preservatives On The
Characteristic Of Coconut Subject During Storage.
Dr. Ida Bagus Wayan Gunam
also thanked UTM and IIUM for trusting the Faculty of Agricultural Technology
to collaborate and work together in carrying out this international seminar. He
also hopes that this activity can have a positive impact on all participants, including
the academic community of Udayana University, especially FTP Unud. His hope
from this activity is that all participants can add experience, insight and
also relationships, he said.
