Ni Luh Gede Wiradani, Food Technology Student at FTP Udayana University Won a Gold Medal for 2 Years in a row in an International Event

Food Technology student, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University, namely Ni Luh Gede Wiradani was able to win the Gold Medal 2 years in a row at the International Event.

The first Gold Medal was won in 2021, the team were able to compete with a total of 410 teams from 14 countries at the Indonesia International Applied Science Project Olympiad which was held in Surabaya, 11th-14th December 2021 by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association.

With his struggle and persistence, on 14th-17^th March 2022, Ni Luh Gede Wiradani collaborated with her teammates from 4 different universities, namely Ni Putu Purmayanti (Bakrie University), Ni Komang Ayu Tri Purnami (Bali State Polytechnic). ), Made Dwi Yulianti (University of Education Ganesha) and Aplonya Marcho Zolbryth Mamulak (Universitas Terbuka) participated in an international competition, namely the 2022 Youth International Science Fair (YISF) which was held online via Zoom Meeting. In the YISF 2022 competition organized by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association and attended by a total of 432 teams from 22 countries in 5 Competition Categories, the team again won the Gold Medal in the Social Science category.

Ni Luh Gede Wiradani and her team raised the project of Analysis of Pyramid Salt Existence and its Impact on the Socio-Economic Life of the Tejakula Coastal Community During the Covid-19 Pandemic. Ni Luh Gede Wiradani explained that this project is about the existence of pyramid salt and its impact on the socio-economic life of the people of Tejakula Village during the Covid-19 pandemic. The reason for taking this idea is because looking at the economic conditions of the community in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic, many people have lost their jobs so solutions are needed to overcome these problems. Hence the creation of the idea to analyze the presence of pyramidal salts. Pyramid salt is a rare marine resource so it is interesting to study. Because its existence is difficult to find and the water content of this pyramid salt is lower and has a softer texture, so the price is quite expensive. Due to the price factor, Indonesian people rarely use pyramid salt, so this salt is more often exported abroad and is in great demand by foreigners. With the increase in export value, it can become a business opportunity for the surrounding community in this pandemic era.

In the future, Ni Luh Gede Wiradani also said that she is still developing ideas with the team and developing future projects that can be done so that the idea of ??Pyramid Salt can be more applicable and the project can be realized and become a solution to improve the economy, precisely for the people of Tejakula Village, Buleleng.
