Targeting 11 Banjars throughout Bali, Collaboration between Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University Academics with BITHUB on Processing of Waste Cooking Oil Already Roadshow to 4 Banjars in the Bali Region

Banjar Creative Space (BCS) is a program that focuses on developing creativity and community empowerment through banjars in Bali from the Bali Initiative Hub (BITHUB) with the Ministry of SOEs funded by CSR TJSL Pertamina.

One of its activities is product development, namely processing used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles and solid soap. Academics of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Unud, namely Dr. Dewa Ayu Anom Yuarini, S.TP., M.Agb was appointed as the trainer in this regard.

 

The Banjar Creative Space program has so far been a roadshow to 4 Banjars in all areas of Bali from the target of 11 Banjars throughout Bali. The banjars that have received training in processing used cooking oil into solid soap and aromatherapy candles are Banjar Taman Kelod Ubud, Gianyar; Banjar Tengah Renon, Denpasar; Banjar Kelod Kauh, Panji Village, Buleleng; and Banjar Ubung Jimbaran, Badung.

In the future, this roadshow related to training in processing used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles and solid soap will be carried out until the target of 11 banjars is achieved. Mrs. Dr. Dewa Ayu Anom Yuarini, S.TP., M.Agb as the trainer explained that apart from providing training related to used cooking oil, also given education on how to use cooking oil correctly, which is a maximum of 3 times frying pans processed. Trainer also emphasized that by storing leftover frying oil and using it repeatedly in the next frying pan, it can increase the risk of heart disease, cholesterol, cancer and obesity. Through this program, it is hoped that it can inspire the younger generation of Bali to be more creative.
